Our Story

How It All Began

CareBear Foundation was born from a deeply personal conviction: that no one should be defined by their circumstances. Our founder, Karyn Poe, witnessed firsthand the resilience of Ghanaian communities — families who, despite lacking access to clean water, education, and basic healthcare, never lost their sense of hope and determination.

That resilience became the foundation of our mission. Rather than offering temporary relief, we set out to build lasting partnerships with communities, empowering them from within and ensuring that every project we undertake is sustainable, community-driven, and rooted in genuine care.

2021

Foundation Established

CareBear Foundation was officially registered as a nonprofit, driven by a vision to restore hope in underserved Ghanaian communities.

2022

First Community Programs

Launched education and child care programs in New Achimota, reaching over 200 children with school supplies and learning materials.

2023

Clean Water Initiative

Began borehole drilling projects, bringing safe drinking water to communities that had relied on contaminated sources for decades.

2024

Expanded to 12 Communities

Grew our reach across multiple regions, adding healthcare, agriculture, and food security to our portfolio of programs.

2025

Growing Stronger Together

With 100+ volunteers and a dedicated team, we continue expanding our impact — one community, one life, one story at a time.
